The Restaurant Kohlern above Bozen
Come up by cable car directly from Bozen, with nothing but green all around. The forest, the meadows and the mountain air will all make you hungry! Should you go straight to eat – or first go for a walk? The Gasthof Kohlern is just a short distance from the top station, traditional and expressive, elegant and genuine in character – exactly like the menu! We use local produce where possible, with regional ingredients if necessary – the fare is in any case always seasonal.
Cooking is a form of expression and in Kohlern it stands for honesty. Schlutzkrapfen (pasta pockets), local salmon trout fillet, marinated veal cheeks served with tomato and onion salad – and perhaps one of our range of over 500 wines to accompany it. Here food tastes like... Kohlern, the mountain above the city! Not only on our spacious summer patio, where the ancient lime trees provide shade and every meal is accompanied by fresh mountain air, but also on the veranda or in the comfortable pine lounge. The past and present come together on the plate, at the hotel, in the ambience. This is a “South Tyrolean Inn” that cannot easily be classified. The Restaurant Kohlern is simply... the Restaurant Kohlern. Par excellence!
Christmas Eve menu
On Christmas Eve we exclusively serve the Christmas Eve menu.
Joint start at 7.00 pm. Only with table reservation!
Christmas Day menu
On Christmas evening, the 25th December, we serve exclusively a set Christmas menu. Only with table reservation! For lunch we are already fully booked. The 26th December we do have still availibility!
New Year's Eve menu
On New Year's Eve we only exclusively our New Year's Eve menu.
Joint start 7:00 pm. Only with table reservation! Update 2024-12-9: We are already fully booked for New Year's Eve. At lunch and the 1st January we still have some tables free!
Additional information
Open from 6th December 2024 till 6th January 2025 from Tuesday to Sunday (Monday closed). The summer season 2025 starts on 1st May.
