Carefully thought out & carefully built
A stepped bar embedded in the slope at the foot of the Gasthof Kohlern
Four new, exclusive living (dream) suites as an addition to the historic rooms of the Gasthof Kohlern.
"My concept of sustainable building is first and foremost to deal with the existing building." Zeno Bampi - Architect
A discreet structure below the historic inn. A kind of lightweight base in more environmentally friendly lime-concrete that serves as a stage for the more important, Alpine Art Nouveau architecture of the former mansion (1870) behind. A new "balconade" on both levels of the veranda built in 1910 loosens up the imposing, historical facade.
The view from the terraces of the new refuges is unobstructed. Generous openings to admire the landscape while lying in bed or floating in the "window lounger".
Every detail of Biquadra's design is handpicked. Handcrafted by South Tyrolean craftsmen, the furnishings are made of stone pine, spruce or larch exclusively from South Tyrol. Characteristic of the Kohlern style are the marble bathrooms. The fittings from Zucchetti are timelessly beautiful.
The new refuges were planned and realized according to the latest findings in building biology: special attention was paid to the use of natural building materials such as wood, clay and lime, their certified origin and to a healthy sleep free of electrosmog.
